OMG:
Does this mean no tree meetings?

It had occurred to me that due to the health emergency, the HOA should have a moratorium on Tree Policy enforcement. This policy puts an undue burden on many owners in Surfside, which at this point is just routine and obsessive, all trees in the community having been topped numerous times. This maintenance does not enhance views in the community nor serve the membership in a meaningful way, but has become mechanical, the wheels of enforcement compelled to push on, in spite of a host of reasons for it to cease.
The current pandemic will be having a serious impact on retirement investments and monthly wages for all citizens, and such compliance demands do not address the more significant needs of member families, which is to survive the work closures and mandatory isolation of citizens, which at this point may continue for weeks to come.
As experts state, there really will be no change in the dangers we face daily, until the infections cease, and realistically, life cannot return to normal until the virus is in fact brought into some semblance of CONTROL. That could take months.
Owners should not be compelled to spend limited funds to trim trees to satisfy compliance demands. The trees grow at approx. a foot annually, so a moratorium of a year would not significantly impact the community, but would take unnecessary pressure off of Surfside owners. I urge the Surfside Board of Trustees to act decisively in this way for the benefit of all owners with trees, in these harsh times.
