About bad news.....Information available...
The members now have detailed information available that was not available in the past, except for reports that were reported on this blog site. That has changed.
The "Board Packet" that is presented to the Board and the members at the Board Meeting, are now available on the Surfside web page... https://www.surfsideonline.org/
Thanks are given to the General Manager and office staff for this important change. Good work.
It would really be helpful if this detailed information was available prior to a Board Meeting. But for now, we will take what we can get.
This information posted is somewhat difficult to access, especially if your not used to navigating the site. I am sure that access to this information can be improved, and will be. It is obviously a work in progress. Much work remains to be done in regards to posting committee minutes in a timely manner on the appropriate topic pages.
This new site page does contain the current committee reports as presented to the Board. It also contains all the motions and detailed information concerning the agenda Board Meeting items. Be forewarned, there are many pages. When the "summary" of the Board Meeting is published in The Weekender, you will see what action was taken by the Board on the motions. A month later, you will see how the Board Members voted.
To access the new page...
Go to the web page surfsideonline.org
Under pages on the left under Meeting Minutes, click on "Board of Trustees
This will bring up 2019 Board Meeting Minutes
Click on minutes of 8-17-19
Note:
This is a very positive change in the members being able to have information that is important.
We may not agree or even like what is disclosed, but we at last have more ability to know what is happening. The blog will continue to publish some reports for the purpose of having a venue where members can discuss the reported information. Perhaps in time, the members will have that opportunity to do the same on a venue provided by the association.
