Street to compactor repaired

What you don't know....

The Board had to approve additional funds to pay for paving of the ditches that were cut into the paving on 324th Place. As I recall it was around 1,600.00.  This should be charged to the pipe replacement project.

In 2016 the water department purchased a pusher, identified as Pow-r Mole at a cost of $41,000.00
This equipment is used to push a pipe under a road to avoid the expense of cutting and restoring the roadway.  I have never seen it used.

In 2016 they also purchased equipment called  a Vermeer Vacuum  Excavator at a cost of $25,625.00
Now, I may be wrong on the purpose for the use of this particular equipment, but think it is used to remove very wet sand from an excavation.  I also have never seen this used.

Was this a total of $65,000.00 in expenditures that was not really needed?  At least it is stored in a dry and secure location, the new water warehouse.

I guess this is why they don't want me snooping around with my camera.
Maybe we can loan this equipment to North Beach Water District. We should be a good neighbor.

The spending in the water department has been out of control for years. Past board member Chris Hansen attempted to address the overspending and he was shot down by most of the rest of the board. The board has consistently chosen to hide the costs of mistake purchases. Neal always opts for the expensive beyond what this small water system needs with our water meters as a perfect example. He has wasted members money time and time again with unused equipment and tool purchases. Ask me how I know and I will not tell you.

I will say over and over Neal's contract should be terminated with consideration given to suing him for the terrible job performance that has gone on for 10+ years.

Was wondering same when I saw all the cuts in compactor road. Prob got no idea how to use it. No big deal, when nb takes over, am sure they have a use for it. Already seen our guys working on U street a few times.

Excuse me George. Were you not on the board in 2016? Why didn't you address this then instead of know?

This was not an issue in 2016. I thought they would use it and be a saving on cost to repair the streets. I was wrong in thinking that. The issue now is that it is not being used. I will also add that the repair of the streets does not fully restore them. Still dips in them. Maybe when the County puts another chip seal on them, they will be better.

Glad you weren't the treasurer George as the items add up to over
$ 67,000 and not $ 65,000. And laughed myself silly at the poster advocating suing for poor job performance. What a hoot.

Now if they could just eliminate a number of homes, trailers and lots if would beautify that street even more. One of the trashiest streets in Surfside.

Hey dum dum with no comprehension, it's about safety not beauty.

Fire Neal. The man has shown himself to be a big disappointment in running the water in Surfside. The waste of hundreds of thousands of $$$$$$ is his SOP. The asbestos exposure problems, the expensive and unused equipment and tools, the replacement of equipment and trucks that were still usable, the purchase of used equipment that proved to be useless, the months and possible years of contaminated water coming out of our taps, etc. etc. There has to be a better option than this creep.

Housecleaning needed in SHOA. Water Boss, Business Manager, office assistant, Board Chairman. Time for a fresh start with people who are in the know. Sad state of affairs in this HOA.
