Informative?

Meeting minutes....

If you go to the Surfside Facebook page, you will find a lot of current information on non Surfside stuff. If you go to the Surfside Web site, you will be hard pressed to find current committee minutes. The only two that are current are the Architecture Committee (7/9/19) and the Board Minutes (6/15/19)

Last posted committee minutes:

Community Relations Committee  March 5, 2019
Emergency Management   Feb. 26, 2019
Tree & Brush   Feb. 2019
Fish & Waterways   Feb. 2019
Water system planning   March 7, 2019
Land & Buildings   March 7, 2019
Firewise (not a committee)  March 7, 2019

These committee members spend a lot of volunteer time with meetings and preparing the minutes. The least that can be done , is to post them so that the members can be informed what is happening currently.  The committees should provide a meeting agenda a week in advance of their meeting and it be posted in the Weekender. The same is true of the Board Meetings.

We can do better.

Yet another example of a direct violation of the operating tenants of a nonprofit corporation. Open, honest communication is a key. We have none of that here.

Other nonprofits in this area seem to have no problem in this respect. Why does Surfside?

Posted minutes could get them in trouble? Or they just dont give a damn.
