Saturday after the Fishing Derby, The Community Relations Committee hosted their Annual Spring Planting event. Those attending made a donation to the Ocean Park Food Bank. All the members had to do was to bring their own pot. Plants and soil were provided with a wide choice of plants. The help and advice was free. Two beautiful baskets were given in a drawing.
Thanks to the hard working members of the Community Relations Committee for their hard work and time in providing this event for the members. This is just one of the events that make Surfside enjoyable.

Could someone please point out to me where in the weekender it shows the spring planting. And the picnic with hotdogs The only thing I remember seeing was the fishing derby.
I do know the spring planting was under the save the date section the last couple weekenders.
I’m new to all this, is “save the date” in the weekender because I couldn’t find it there either. Warning—— I’m older and not very good on navigating on my iPad but I try to read the weekender every Thursday on my iPad this is where I get most of my info.
No need for the warning. In the current weekender the save the dates is right under the flyer for the yard sale.
I see the tree committee was represented among those working so I guess they don't want to kill everything. Nice that they can rise above petty criticisms and still volunteer for the community. More than I can say for the majority who comment here, myself included.
Save The Date for the Planting activity was on Page 5 of the current Weekender. It was also published in the Chinook Observer under Upcoming Events.
The Hot Dog picnic was included in the info about the Fishing Derby on page 7 of The Weekender. It usually is for the participants and their families.
The Surfside Membership picnic is scheduled for July 14, following the General Meeting, and is open to all.
Thank you for for all the help finding my way around now if someone could help me find my keys
