ELECTION LETTER

Addressed to the Board of Trustees...

A "concerned" member has sent the letter posted below, to the Surfside Board of Trustees.  I thank that member for sharing that letter and it's contents with the rest of us members.  In my opinion, it is so factual, it could be presented as a document in a court of law.  The Board or it's designee,  have 10 business days to respond.

Click on each page once or twice of the two page letter, for a larger view:

Should have cc'd Sam Jacobs, who I believe is the attorney under retainer for Surfide HOA.

Bravo to the author and I hope the BOT responds instead of ignore as usual.

We must defeat this dictatorship!

Right on, if they do not respond, send a copy to the assoc attorney.

Give it up, you are costing the HOA money to redo this and the election results will still be the same. You whiney people are the reason I never will voluntwmeer to be involved here. You make this a bad place to live and work.

You never know, a change can make things better for you, especially at "work". It only takes one person to spoil a work environment. Oh, wait, maybe that person is you?

Tom Newman agreed to only fill in for Clancy until July 2021. Clancy's term isnt over until July 2022. So, the way I see it is that there are 3 full term openings for the BOT plus a one year term to fill Clancy's position. So vote for 3 folks (I'm not voting for Rhonda because she sounds very hateful on this Blog) and whomever gets the fourth highest number of votes (maybe Rhonda) will get the one term position. If I remember correctly, this is how Deb Blagg got her one term position. The office manager would be an idiot and cost us all more money if she decides to send out new ballots.

Your opinion has nothing to do with the specific details spelled-out in our documents. There are 4 vacancies that require 4 member votes be cast per household. It is written plainly in our docs. The only reason any members go to extra effort on something like this letter, is to hold the Board to following our written standards, which they refuse to do.

Insisting on honesty and integrity in our governance isn't idle troublemaking, but accepting the responsibility that goes with living in a democracy. State RCWs demand that Community HOAs be fully transparent, and governance follow a democratic model.

Weaklings who find it distasteful some neighbors take their freedom seriously, would presumably just give up in the face of serious mistreatment of the members. Dishonesty and deceit are serious issues in a community with a couple of million dollars in the bank.

the board will not act on the letter. they have no incentive to act. the infractions delineated in the letter are rather small, almost insignificant. as been pointed out before, there are no HOA police so, the only redress members have is to hire a lawyer and ask the courts to intervene. the only problem with that is, nobody is going to spend the money needed to hire a lawyer. even if they did, you would run the risk of of the judge viewing you as crazy nit pickers with an axe to grind. after all, your complaint is kind of petty.

Well she must be an idiot because the ballots go out on monday. Her hand was forced by the lawyers and Mrs mcmurphy.

BREAKING NEWS: our lawyer found a president set years ago so new ballots will be sent out soon to vote for four trustees! I pays to be patient and let the system work folks!

"Give it up" Hell no! Our members deserve fairness. You want to talk about the HOA costing us money, lets start with the lawsuit Patrick won, or the water trailer Ric says we need in case of a sunami, or the 1/2 million sheriff contract.
Whoever wrote this, thank you! 4 spots, 4 votes

@7:06, I speak my mind, and don't hide behind anonymous! I don't need your vote

@7:38, oh you have no idea who is taking Surfside to court. Oh and judges hate Surfside, so it's a slam dunk for our members to win...cheers

Oh 7:38 anonymous you’d better read up on reasons to follow the rules! There is nothing nit picking about expecting our trustees to follow the by-laws and the Articles of incorporation! These are filed with the state and are legal documents. Read the letter again and concentrate! It’s very specific about how that appointed seat is to be filled! Not by chance but by a vote at the next annual meeting! Busted !

That's complete b.s.. The member letter and other protests sent to Board members has been acknowledged. It's election time and who's in charge here ?

The Bylaws state it clearly, as does the Surfside Operations Manual."At least 3 Trustees will be elected annually." AT LEAST means more is fine.

738 - don't you get tired spouting useless propaganda about a totally dysfunctional organization?

Mix in the truth next time.

If Annette truly wanted to follow covenants and policies and procedures, don't you think she would have been in their faces about needing to vote for 4 from the get go...lier lier pants on fire

Anonymous said...

Let me get this straight, the board must follow the by-laws but members get a choice whether or not to follow the covenants... hmmm

Anonymous said...

Annette is going to save us from the mess she created when she carried proactive compliance idea as the tree committee board trustee to the board. So what does she have now near and tidy for OUR value?

Anonymous said...

The covenants that were made in 1965! Can you imagine if technology didn't improve since then where we would be. Could you imagine having a rotary dial phone still, or a TV you had to manually change.
Point is, times change, we gotta keep up with change. 1965 this place had dirt roads, should we go back to dirt roads

You know it, neat and tidy is going to be shoved down our throats before most of us get our lots cleaned up from tree limbs sitting all winter. The same thing that goes on at the chipper all summer...hmmmm

714 - she pursues absolutely nothing but her own self-interest!
That and the fact she is a control freak meet her a very poor candidate for this board.

Anonymous said...

Annette deLeest has exposed herself for the two faced person she really is. Her flyer accuses the other candidates will raise the dues. Three years on the board and she does not know the difference between dues and assessments. The dues have remained the same in the 20 years I have lived here. 100.00 per member. Not lot, member. The assessments are what go up. Then she gets on here under anonymous and make the same clam against Ronda that "She will raise the dues". She gave herself away with her two faced claim against Ronda and others. Annette and her angry husband need to shut up a go away. Far away. He is now also posting under anonymous.

For those who are unaware, Annette has chosen to assist this Association by being the leading tree Nazi. She's been relentless in pursuing her and her husband self-interest, nothing else.

A vote for her is a vote for the same old crap, with interest.

Anonymous said...

When she is at the tree top chipping site, she should be saying, Your here because i and my friends wrote the complaint on you and you will be back year after year until your trees are dead. Vote for me so I can keep screwing you fools around and the rest of the dumb members will pay the bills. I will keep the dues down.

Anonymous said...

It's not all her. It's Peggy and Pam too. How many complaints have their names on them

Anonymous said...

There is NO information that can be kept confidential from any board trustee. They have to be given any information they demand. If they were not such a bunch of wimps, they would demand to see the complaints filed and who filed them. When they once saw that, they would see the need to make changes to the complaint system. The abuse would be clear and who was doing it. They would also demand resignation of board and committee people for abuse of authority. Will new board members step up? probably not.

Anonymous said...

Yes they will because we are all sick of this attempt of control without member say.
