We must do our part to preserve and protect our "recreational community" way of life.
We all moved here, or most have, for a sloer paced relazed way of life. We have seen those few who have moved here from urban areas and have brought that stressful way with them. The increased "enforcement" of covenants is part of it. Killing trees and harrassment of RV folks and now lighting issues only makes more stress. Most of us who live here full time, have had enough stress in our lives, and most part timers come here to get a break from their stressful lives. We must resist those who want to change our community to the city ways. We like it just fine the way it has been. I suggest that those who want to chage our way of life...You have moved to the wrong place. Go back to where you came from, and leave the rest of us alone. Rlite are not welcome here. We were just fine before you came, and we will be just fine after you leave.

During a 60 Minutes interview just over a week ago, Senator Kamala Harris was asked whether she would bring a “socialist” perspective to a Biden administration. She laughed, as if it were an absurd question.
It’s not.
Whether she embraces the label “socialist” or not, Harris’s stated agenda and Senate record both reveal her to be positioned a long way to the left on matters of economic policy.
From health care to the environment to housing, Harris thinks the answer to almost every problem we face is simply more government and more taxpayer money — raising taxes and further indebting future generations in the process.

It's ironic that not long after Biden became the Dem. Presidential candidate, the pandemic hit the country. For those whose health insurance is based on their employment, many have lost those jobs and health coverage. Many poor folks still have no insurance, and the Trump admin. seeks to eliminate Affordable Care coverage, including pre-existing condition coverage, in the U.S. Supreme Court in a week or 2.
With about 8 million infected and 240,000 dead, there is a surge in the virus, killing 900 to a 1000 daily. It has never been more obvious how urgent it is that ALL Americans have healthcare coverage. In the world as we now must exist, we are only more safe if our fellow citizens are healthy, able to be tested for viral disease, and treated as national mandate allows.
All of the Democratic candidates stressed the urgency of establishing health coverage nationally for all, through one means or another. The Biden camp is entirely transparent as to what his platform includes, detailing their plan to provide a Medicare option for all who want it, and allowing private plans for those who prefer their current plans.
But the fact is, the Pandemic is changing the quality of care in established insurance plans. In-person visits are being cut back on, elective surgeries postponed, and specialized care requiring lengthy waits. This is because of runaway viral infections and the need for greater isolation of those with pre-existing conditions. It is also ironic, that once infected with Covid, we have a pre-exiting condition permanently.
I doubt that anyone has had a problem putting Federal checks in their bank accounts. Stimulus money is "Socialism". Social Security, Unemployment Ins., Food Stamps, Food Banks, all are socialistic in nature. Contributions by the populace are augmented by Federal funds, and distributed to the citizens by an equitable system of assistance.
Socialized medicine has many variation s around the world. Some work flawlessly, some less so - but it is widespread because the basic premiss is so sound. Your health is in jeopardy when your community is ill due to lack of healthcare, regardless how good YOUR insurance is.
Those who fear the very word "socialism" equate it with totalitarian regimes around the world, when it has no direct connection. When carefully administered, such programs work very well. The Biden agenda seeks to blend different views and approaches to find hybrid solutions. Economic experts have advised that a large stimulus such as the Congress passed last May, has been our best bet at avoiding financial calamity in the near future. The Heroes Act has sat on McConnell's desk since May, the Republicans unwilling to even consider it.
There is no evil Democratic Plan, no Cult of Blood-drinkers, no plan to end law enforcement in our communities. It's all a smoke screen created by Trump, Fox news, and the internet. ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, all provide the same news daily, vetted daily for accuracy, never "fake". When errors are made, they are acknowledged without shame. So many Americans live in fear due to their distrust of real news, and embrace of phony conspiracy theories like Qanon. It's like we're going back to the Middle Ages.

Since the Trump admin. yanked neighborhood mailboxes and high speed processing equipment, no one can predict timely delivery, so the only realistic criteria is postmark by election day. Military must depend on mails, always have - even during the Civil War.
