This notice was posted yesterday on the Surfside web site. If you live in that area, did you get a reverse notice?

No. Myself and neighbor did not. I guess Reber had to get to a tennis game and couldn't be bothered.
No reverse notice received
It was on Surfside's Facebook yesterday.
Are you serious 4;05? Do you really think everyone checks the website everyday? You have to be kidding! A reverse phone call should have gone out like it usually does or they should go door to door if need be! This is inexcusable!
Only the outage that i saw, not the boil.
Correction, was in comments🤦🏼♂️
notice should have been sent by phone or e-mail to members !!!
Not everybody monitors Facebook 24/7. You may be the exception. Shows you the status of our system when the County has a pre-recorded message and Surfside residents on speed dial for water line breaks. Can’t wait for Clancy to take over, or maybe I can.
So members are expected to use Facebook for their information, but not voting? Guess the BOT doesn't want those persons who are digitally underrepresented to be safe. Must be their way of thinking the herd.
Prob no phone calls, because affected only part of system. Dont think sophisticated enough to deliniate.
Hey 5:29, if you're going to do a useless rant at least proof read it first please.
And Btw, there are at least 3 Trustees who live north who didn't get phone calls either. Using your logic I guess they don't care about themselves either.
I don't use faceplant, how am I supposed to know then?
The 3 north trustees live on j place. J place was not part of the boil water area. Notice could have been sent to all members and stated the area. Guess that is to complicated. They don't care about the herd.
I would think there should be a procedure (policy) to follow when these incidents occur. Included in that procedure to follow would be notifying the membership. The staff has to be aware of the correct procedure to follow each and every time! I certainly do not rely on Facebook for notification about Surfside business, wasn’t even aware of it until yesterday. The official notice on the Surfside website is not sufficient for members to be aware of these situations. As another has suggested, use the reverse dial system and give the area involved
I will never use Facebook ever again. It allows false and fake political speech.
Of course J Place was not affected. They're our special interest group who we subsidize.
They only use the hyper link if it were to affect the entirety of Surfside. Door hangers were place on the homes that were affect. The boil water advisory was lifted this morning, no contamination
949 - if you think they care about anywhere but J Place , you're deluional.
Point is, if they are going to notify everybody to boil, they should do the same when it is over!
The blog works! Just finally got the call that the boil notification was over. Still a shame that we have our own pre-recorded message at the County.
Sorry, it had more to do with people like myself and neighbors calling in to the office that we got the calls.
1:09 - That has nothing to do with it. Many on J Place have very poor water pressure, many have costly booster pumps to augment the low pressure. The flushing is done mainly on the lower level of the community, and that is often a factor in the line failures.
Why does J have such low pressure, considering proximity to the water plant?
Steve,
The poor water pressure on J street home, is the result of having a view.
For each foot of elevation above the main water supply there is roughly a 0.5 psi loss per foot elevation.
Your comment regarding water line failures being the result of flushing is simply false!
Bob Haskin, you have much knowledge regarding this situation. Why are we continually getting breaks?
Re: January 16, 2020 at 5:09 PM
Poor repairs over the years, go read the reports I made to the bot. There is a good one where I was ticked off with pics that was straight forward and upset a few BOT members
add to that poor system operations before my time during the transition between the shallow wells and the booster facility really stressed the old ACP pipe.
If a concrete pipe breaks the whole 13 foot section is fractured not just the visibly broken section.... Most of the failures you guys are experiencing are due to shoddy repairs and there are lots of them over the years.
These are time bombs waiting to let go. Why they tend to fail at night is odd and I have yet to come up with a valid reason why.
