George,

____________________________________________________________________________

Board member, Annette DeLeest, has once again abused her responsibility as a Board Trustee.
I have found it necessary to file a formal complaint regarding her actions.
I have found the Surfside Board President to be an honorable person as well as others on the Board.  Mrs. DeLeest has proven to be an exception and embarrassment to the entire Board of Directors.  While the Board and I may disagree on issues, they have maintained a professional manner on the issues. She has not. She should resign or be removed.

Below is the complaint letter that was submitted on 12/31/2019 along with the proper forms.

They all don't act appropriately. They ignore letters and emails. They don't respond to them as they should per the government documents. Gary Williams has used all caps when emailing me and is very condescending in his writing to me.
Maybe I need to submit some board member complaints too.

So you are upset because she is upset at your personal attacks of her on your blog. Good luck with your complaint. Expect some complaints about you and your bloggers from all of the people you have attacked on your blog. Do you really believe you stand on the high moral ground? How should the board respond to the many complaints they will be getting about you and your blog?

6:23 AM: They should implement member voting for governing documents amendments. That would be a start.

Showboating again George. Board members can only be removed by the members and only at the Annual meeting. What is the point of your latest campaign to foster unrest in Surfside?

So little Georgie got his feelings hurt again. Boo-Hoo-Hoo. What a load of B.S. Proves that old saying once more. Those who dish it out can't take it.

Hey 12:08 dumb dumb. The board can remove fellow board members, as they should do here.

Guess it escapes your understanding that Annette's accusations are hysterical and ridiculous. No one has attacked her on the Blog, but critical comments on her actions as a Trustee have been made. All contact information is public domain as part of serving as a Trustee or Comm. member, and she is having a fit over it nearly 3 years after being elected.

George is simply stating the facts and telling her to buzz off. He can certainly block her e-mails, but she is acting like a fool. If you are going to help promote policy that infringes on individual owner's right to make their own choices - about their trees, about their light fixtures - you're going to have to face the ire of those who resent other owners running for office so they can screw with community members.

More restrictive rules will not make this a better community, but it WILL make people who own here angry, and it WILL discourage a vigorous realty market. Meanwhile member money is pissed away without a concern, on ridiculous enforcement measures and compliance officers, and fines for HOA non-compliance with Federal, State and County standards. Hypocrisy at its' finest.

Your HOA will require more in assessments to continue making Surfside an ever more restrictive suppressing place. Enjoy the beach !

I noticed on the updated reply from Mr. Reber, that he does not have any trouble providing contact information, even more than others. I think others, including myself, should also file complaints against Deleest. And others.

Does anyone know if Reber lives in Surfside?

He rents a room from a lady on 320th and J Place, across from Winegar's.

Anonymous said...

That is one step above sleeping in his car. Any bets on how long before he cuts and runs?

Anonymous said...

Maybe he could rent that shed by the office. lol

I got $50 on 6 months. Right before the July Annual Meeting.

Anonymous said...

Renting a room doesn't mean he lives there, and it doesn't seem he would actually be a member.

Anonymous said...

If he's going to rent a shed he should rent that mini cabin "shed" Patrick built.

You are wrong 1:39. Board members cannot be removed by a majority vote of the rest of the board. A board member can be removed from their position on the executive portion (Pres, Vice President, Secretary or Treasurer. The members elect the board and only the members can remove them either at the ballot box or the Annual meeting.

We need a way to remove committee chairs. We also need a way to remove members and require them to move away.

Anonymous said...

Yes I agree 10:48 AM. We need a way to determine that members are unsuitable, confiscate their property, and force them to move away.
Are you going to propose that for the 2020 Annual Meeting?

I will no longer follow any covenants. In fact, I will deliberately violate as many as I can. When I get a violation letter I will, but not until. If we all do that, we will keep them so busy, they will have to hire 6 full time compliance officers. I will not take my tree tops to the chipper. I will burn them a little every day. Those j place folks will have a view and smell of smoke. I will also install big high wattage lights out side.

If anyone knows of any board member property CC&R violations, what are they? I will write and submit them.

2:30. Flood, along with dozens of others will have to replace several outdoor light fixtures. I am sure folks who are victims of this absurd covenant change will form a Clancy/Olds/DeLees type of roving vigilantes to thoroughly investigate numerous areas.

There was 15 lighting complaints total! Why are we trying to change a covenant over this ? Silly!! 2 committee members from the EAST SIDE have brought this whole thing on!!

There is no official repor5 on the number of lighting complaints. This is the problem as different numbers have been verbalized but there is no written report
