Now is the time. The time for trees.
Trees provide the very necessities of life itself. They clean our air, protect our drinking water, create healthy communities, and feed the human soul. But these life necessities are threatened around the globe.
To address this, we’re launching an unprecedented undertaking: the Time for Trees initiative. Together, we can create change … through trees.

Don’t plant them in Surfside or they will just grow up to be slaughtered to protect non-existent views for members who are not legally entitled to protected views.
Non-existent views? Really?
Funny, visitors to my property don't share your opinion.
Hope they enjoyed the stumps in front.
Now that the trees are gone, they can bitch about the lights they see.
Ironically I recently received a flyer from the Arbor Foundation, as some you may have. As usual it was a request for funding. I wrote them back with photos of our blighted neighborhood asking them if anything can be done to stop this "naked earth' policy. Will let you know what recourse we have. (included all the specifics of covenants vs law, etc).
Thanks. I think that most know that what we are doing to our trees is wrong. I don't think a flyer or more information about the importance of trees will change hearts and minds. It is kind of like morality, a learned way of behaving and thinking. Our best hope may be in the education of young people. I hope that by the time those young people have grown to the point where they can make a difference, there will be something left to make a difference about. Trees.
Thank you 7:21 for being more involved. We need a movement to SAVE SURFSIDE, not a phony "protect Surfside". It would be more than great to see Surfside become a "Green and Clean Community" A community and homeowners association that appreciates each other and the gift that nature has provided us all.
