Architectural Report

Feb. 19 - March 12, 2019

Another waste of time with mostly fences and sheds.
We don't need a covenant for fences and sheds. The County has rules for them. That should be enough.

FYI...
The deleest's got their variance for their new home on J Place.
The only reason they had to get a variance for the height of their home is because of another unfair worthless covenant that was meant to keep a view for the elite.  Homes should be allowed to all be with the County limit of 35 feet.  Our screwed up covenants say that the height is measured from the center of the street. They want to build on property that is above the street. By our rules this made a 35 ft. tall home (County approved) 38 feet. They did pay the fees or maybe not all.  Some say the variance fee was dropped.

How about a variance for tree height with the fee dropped.  How about a 2 story home in the harassment zone below J Place.  The small lots should be allowed to have a second floor. It is not just the tree height that is not fair, it is also the home height.  Also, can't have a small square foot cabin. County allows smaller sq. ft., but the elite Surfside does not.  If you could build a 2 story home, wouldn't the value be more?  Just another example of reduced property value for a view.
