May 3rd deadline...Interesting comments...
The Association has published the Board candidate packet for the election of at least three (3) Board candidate positions. There can also be nominations for the Board submitted from the floor at the July 2019 Annual Meeting on the second Saturday in July 2019 to be held at the Ocean Park School.
The reason for a deadline filing date of May 3rd, is so that the candidate statement and picture can be prepared for the printing of the Newsletter and voting ballots that are mailed to all members prior to the meeting. You can pick up applications at the office, or print a copy from the web site. A hard copy must be submitted to the Business Office by the stated deadline.
To view the candidate form, click on the link below.
At the upper left on that page below Home 2019 candidate packet

Well, guess I won't be running. I'm away on vacation May 18th when the candidates have a forum. And I wouldn't want to receive any special treatment, even if I could call in.
I interpret the application packet regarding that matter not being mandatory. The application packet states you will be asked to attend.
If you're a member in good standing just submit your name. Forget the other bullshit and especially sucking up to the blog members. Would be interesting to see how many of them even vote. I don't.
I vote. I could never run due to the micromanagement and political bullshit. Now my wife.... That's another story. Someday she will run. She doesn't take crap from anyone and speaks her own mind
I vote for Deb to run again. I would vote her back in.
I would also
All the members who support dirty tricks to have things their way support Deb. I continue to hope for a higher level of integrity in future board members.
I continue to hope for your silence. I think we'll both be disappointed.
Any tricks you attributed Deb are nothing compared to what the boards been doing to us for years.
Try supporting your special interest in a different forum.
Okay 12:00 - You mean the kind of integrity that president Gary Williams demonstrated by lieing about the "State of the Community" on the cover of the last Surf-In-Sider ?
Surfside HOA wrote a check for $27,000 to WA State L&I in mid-November for fines levied on the community for mishandling of Asbestos and related mismanagement, and lack of proper building permits caused the construction of the enclosure building to be issued a "stop-work-order". About the same time, the BOT paid out $45,000 for Asbestos Abatement (disposal). The community was not and is not in compliance with ANY regulatory agencies.
Since you obviously follow the blog, you surely are aware that the president of the HOA Board has lied to the entire membership, and has refused to acknowledge the trouble we're in or comment on it. Meanwhile, they are spending community money on legal counsel, without proper approval or public transparency.
Surf-In-Sider: "we continue to work to remain in compliance with State regulations regarding our Water System." --- G. Williams Dec.2018
He knew that this was a lie, as did the entire Board.
03/28 12:51 PM and All.
I believe I posted Gary Williams' email response to me when I directly called him out for the 2018 Summary article in the Surf-in-Sider.
He said the incidents hadn't happened when he wrote the article. He told me he wrote the article in May. What a total lie, b.s., and cover up. Apparently he thinks we're all idiots.
I told him and the rest of the board in a response back that Gary's response was unreasonable and absurd. I further told them I don't believe any of that. Why would you write a summary for the year in May. In May there is still 7 months left in the year.
I sent that information and more to the Attorney General and the Secretary of State.
The Attorney General says this is a private matter that they can't get involved with. The Attorney General said they are keeping the information on file.
I haven't heard back from the Secretary of State.
I wish 20 to 30 of us could join funds for hiring an attorney and make these people account for their behavior.
I love attorneys. I have know some awful ones, but since I have had to take on some big issues and found some inspiring and ethical people out there, (not divorce attys), I'm all in with legal advice.
