(Confirmed 6/14/2021) NEW VOTING INSTRUCTIONS... "printing error, my ass"
I have been informed, but not confirmed, that the members will receive a notice instructing them to cast their votes for four (4) candidates. This raises more questions than answers. For example: What about the ballots that have been cast? The mess only gets worse. At this point, until there is a confirmation, I can offer no advice.

If this is in fact true, they need to send out an email so people know and get information first hand.

Surfside, Before you vote, look for new mail from SHOA telling everyone how many people to vote for. When members complained to Ric Minich, Gary Williams and Tracy were all told that’s how we do things CROOKED . People contacted attorney generals office and one brave member drafted a letter to all involved. Guess who blinked ? Vote Ronda, John, Larry, and Cory. Save the HOA from these corrupt board members who pulled same voting scam last election

You have to feel sorry for the business manager and office people, having to do the bidding of a corrupt board and committee people who have no idea what they are doing. The staff and employees are left holding the bag trying to explain it to the members. They should be allowed to fire the directors and committee people. Has to be an awful place to work.
I just want to know how they are going to handle it if we already mailed our Proxy vote, will the Designated Proxy be able to vote for the additional new candidate? Since I had to vote for 3, one of the new 4 was left out.
If not will we be able to pick up a new ballot at the office? We are coming to the beach next week and won’t have mail service. We do 30 USPS holds.
The right thing to do is to mail out a new ballot. So we know they won't do that. Spend another thousand dollars on postage. They should make williams pay for it.
My guess is, that they will have mail delivery as a clue, and may pull aside ballots already sent. But I would assume the vote counters will pull aside all ballots voting only for 3 candidates,and contact everyone at once, sending a suplemental ballot.
But they can keep the early ballots separate to simplify the search for 3 vote ballots, and keep ballots cast at the meeting separate as they have designated proxies, and may have voted early.
But typically there are around 300 households casting ballots, so not a huge burden to sort as they are counted.
They may also trash all ballots already sent, and send info and a new ballot.
Latest info. is that a letter is being sent to all members stating there was a "printing error" and instructing members to vote for 4. Previous ballots sent will be trashed. This only compounds the fiasco. The cover up and blame game has started. I expect that the Business Manager will be fired or asked to resign. Like the previous General Manager, she will get a large parting sum that requires her to keep her mouth shut. With trouble getting 300 members to vote once, what chances are there that any will vote twice? The incompetence corruption continues.

Well isn't this fun. Last I read was that if you voted for more than 3 your ballot would be thrown out. Now this. This is f'd up.
I cannot speak highly enough of the employees that continue to provide our everyday services while working in a totally dysfunctional environment.
This current board, the equivalent of a circus clown car, needs to go. A nonprofit organization cannot tolerate incompetence or corruption, and we have both.
Ric Rudd and Heidi saw Surfside United handout Memorial Day weekend where people were told to vote for four people. They had a laugh saying they only get three votes and now we are supposed to think it’s a printing error?
Once they lie, they have to keep making more one after another. They are just digging a deeper hole. I pity Ronda. After she and the other three get elected, they have a hell of a mess to clean up. It can be done, but it won't be easy. My thanks to the four. Your our last hope.
Both Heidi and Tracy is part of this shitshow. Tracy tries to justify the votes in the weekender. Hopefully some changes for the BOT and office staff.
I truly believe Ric Minich needs to be recalled as I questioned why 3 and not 4 votes and he sent me back and email justifying it as the ECC.
I sent this email to JoAnne prior to the letter that started this great achievement.
Olds,Minich and Neptune all see themselves as the community's saviors, entitled to do what they want without any need to abide by our documents. Rules are for the members, and they think we need to be micro-managed. Williams and deLeest are also full of themselves, Williams deceitful. Don't vote for them.
Annette at chipper today handing out her flyer. I quote " a special interest group is attempting to change the historic intent of our HOA ARTICLES, BYLAWS AND COVENANTS. Without these protections ALL OF OUR PROPERTY VALUES will go down and more importantly harm our neighborhoods".

She and Gary and throw in Peggy Olds, have done more to harm our community than anyone ever. Do these people have no shame for what they have done. They need to be black balled from any activity in this association. If they are not stopped, they will destroy any chance we have to return to a better community with respect for all.
I too received a letter from Annette, stating her competence in keeping cost low, being a experienced leader, her priorities in improving our water supply, increased board transparency etc etc. BS, Look at the facts over the last five years. Our dues continue to
go up, water breakdowns are regular occurrence, money is wasted on water trailers, lawyer fees for correcting management mistakes on overseeing the water department,
building on wetlands without permits and killing shore pines, clearing trees and brush around Seabreeze Lake in violation of the Shoreline Act and on it goes. The only reason property values have gone up here in Pacific County is because of the housing shortage and not due the our beautiful Surfside.
What ever happened to our Surfside sign as you come down I? Are we redoing it to say "Stumpside, a community who eats their young"
4:02 your dues will go way up with Ronda and friends wanting to spend down our reserves! Pool, dog park, tennis courts, new building etc: etc: she does not understand the requirement of a reserve fund! Spend it all and let the assessments come!
Speaking of signs..You should see all the custom made signs in Gary Williams yard at 311 and I Street. Must be at least 15 saying vote for Gary Williams. More signs, more votes? What a desperate fool. Think he is afraid what will be uncovered once he is out of there. Can't be soon enough. Signs in Williams yard supporting County Commissioner, lost the Surfside vote. Hope the same for him.
I don't believe Ronda is saying we will build all those amenities and I do believe she understands the importance of a reserve. What I hear her saying is for the past few years money has been grossly wasted, as in the Sheriff contract, and we could have had nicer amenities with those wasted funds and still have the reserve we have today.
Life and words are not black and white with only one meaning. You lose mental flexibility when you think like that.
It sure would be nice to have a pool so we don't have to send our kids into the ocean to swim. A small gym with some workout equipment would be nice too. Ditch the Sheriff contract, since Travis left, I haven't seen a patrol car except twice. I used to see Travis all the time. Now, nothing.......

Annette doesn't know who is doing what, so she has created a blatant lie and published it. There are laws against that Annette, but we have seen that you have been a part of a Board that ignores State requirements for transparency, and treating all members fairly and equally.
There are no radical groups with a secret agenda, no "special interest groups who want to eliminate our community documents". In fact, what is at issue with these concerned members, is the Board's disrespect for member rights clearly stated in our Bylaws and Covenants.
A few concerned members wrote a letter to the Board of Trustees protesting the arbitrary decision to allow only 3 member votes per household, when 4 or more are allowed by the Board's own Operations manual.
We hear that new ballots are being sent out to rectifybthe situation.
Some of the Trustees illegally blocked a member proposal for a member vote (at the Annual Meeting) to change ONE Bylaw to require a member vote on covenant changes proposed by the BOT.We will revisit that effort next year at this time.
But the tide is turning, and increasingly, more members are sick of being disrespected.
No one plans to spend our community reserves, and ONE person doesn't command the others to do their bidding. That's a fairy tale - complete hooey.
I wish I had some tree debris to dump so I could get my hands on one of those Annette papers. Just curious what the entire verbiage is on this paper, handed to those she contributed to, with a certified letter, to cut down their trees. What a piece of work. For shame and brazenness!
I have never said let's spend all our reserves,get your facts straight..after 50 years of foolish spending we have little to show of the things mentioned in our Articles of Incorporation. Our board had no trouble voting in the 1/2 million joke of a contract with the sheriff.
We are part of Pacific County, they have to respond when called. When we had Teavis, we got reports, we get nothing now.. Wouldn't it have been better to use this money elsewhere??

I don't see this as special interest, but as HOMEOWNERS, fed up with being treated as servants to a hierarchy where non exists.

No one is complaining fool. This will mean that at least 1200 votes will be cast, 4 per household, 300 or so member households voting, rather than 900. It IS significant.

When I first moved here in 2018, even the Sheriff himself (Robin) stopped when he was covering the area to say Hi and let his presence known. I saw Travis two, three times a day. But now, nothing! What is the dealio? More money, less presence? I'm so disappointed and this needs to be addressed ASAP.
I think the question has to be asked and answered as to who made this decision to only allow 3 votes! It’s very clear in the by-laws and articles of incorporation of our right to vote! I think the members deserve an answer!

This election should be declared invalid and cancelled until next year. We can operate just fine with a board of 5. Next year we might be able to have a legal, real election, and an honest legal Annual Meeting where members can make motions and vote. This fiasco has gone so far, that it can not be fixed this year.
Maybe if you stopped running a negative campaign, you wouldn't get flipped off. You talk about community while trying to divide it.
Something must be really wrong for a group of people to want to hang on so tight to an unpaid, thankless position. I wonder what they are hiding? Violating the election laws is a very serious offence. Those on the board need to understand that when they knowingly violate such laws, they are personally liable. They are not covered by the association blanket bond insurance. This was clearly the case with the asbestos pipe violations. The association attorney advised the board members to retain their own private counsel. This was done by most at the time.

The Board's intentional effort to cheat in the election appears to be developing into a legal sh**storm. We will see. But recognize that no matter how audacious and smug the current Board may be, they are in violation of State election laws which opens the doors to wasteful spending of OUR member dollars to protect their pompous behinds.
I’ve already talked to JoAnne I have $500 to start the legal action and more if needed. I also have an email from our Election Committee Chairman (Ric Minich) telling us that the election of 3 votes was 100% on the up & up and backed up by the Operational Manual #101. Geez Ric what happened?

ALL of the Trustees were interviewed by Federal investigators, and advised to lawyer-up. The community was fined tens of thousands of dollars- something idiots choose not to believe.

There is money to come after you fools. AND when we win, this HOA WILL pay us back! You keep heckling with your bad self. Most of us are not going to expose to YOU what we are doing. The element of surprise is always the best attack.
Big words from an anonymous nobody. The HOA managed to bring the Fed, State and County on our ass about 3 years ago, and only about a year ago the last of several serious BOT mistakes was resolved in the Wetland Mitigation agreement. The community was very lucky to mitigate (pay for wetland restoration) through the State, at about $12,000. Add attorney's fees for both the HOA attorney and a special attorney from South Bend, several thousand more. Add the costs incurred in the Asbestos Abatement conducted by the Fed, surely around $100,000 on various blunders and HOA thumbing their nose at regulations.
These constant screw-ups make the HOA vulnerable, no matter how much member money is in the Bank.

The new proxies will be sent out today. The proxies already mailed and received will still go to Janet Corey (DECC) for record retention.

But there are State laws that come to bear on all State sanctioned elections, and they are taken very seriously in terms of enforcement. $500 from me and maybe 10 more people, that’s $5500, add in additional members that could put up 1 or 2000 as I could to stop this madness. Add in the members that may throw in $25 to $50, WOW suddenly we have 25 to 50 THOUSAND DOLLARS. Thought I would spell that out for you in case you don’t understand the anger the members are feeling right now!
