Another good committee...
Our waterways are valuable asset's of our association and need to be managed in careful thoughtful ways for the benefit of all members. They are a source of recreation, fishing and flood control. The association works closely with the County and State. These waterways have been neglected for years and deserve attention now.
Just one issue is fishing. Years ago the Twin Lakes (Bear Lake) was the site of the Annual Fishing Derby. On the West side, most of the waterways are bordered by private property. Those areas are stocked with fish, while the East side is neglected. It is past time that those on the East side also have the opportunity to fish and enjoy those associated waterways. A Water department employee has been quoted as complaining that the water crew would have to check and clean the screens on Bear Lake, if installed.
These are good people on the Fish & Waterways Committee and see the need to upgrade the waterways on the East side. Fair treatment and opportunities are needed on all sides. Thanks to this committee for their thoughtful work.
